Monthly Update - April 2025

Hey there! I hope you all had a great April. Mine was full of getting things done and laying the groundwork for even more both personally and here with my novels! Let’s just say... some exciting things are coming very soon (hopefully)! :D

First, Chapter 5 is now published and available to everyone on Itch.io! I’ve been really looking forward to sharing this one because of everything it means for the characters, especially our favourite redheaded siblings! This chapter marks a turning point in their development, and trust me, that’s going to be felt in the next one too (Please don’t kill me for what happened… I swear it was necessary!).

Speaking of Chapter 6, I’m already deep into it. It’s going to be another emotional rollercoaster with lots of feelings front and centre. This one will probably be about the same length as the last, but... You know how I always say a chapter will be short and then end up writing the longest one yet? Fingers crossed it doesn’t take me too long to finish, lol!

That said, I did hit a bit of a wall at one point… the classic staring at the page thinking I forgot how to write kind of moment. I thankfully fixed it rather quickly by switching from second to third person, though! It happens to me sometimes with language as well and I need to switch from spanish to english to get things flowing again. Writing in second person can make it harder for me to see the MC as a character, but third person feels more natural, even if it means more editing later. I’d rather have a messy draft than stay stuck forever, lol.

Also, a shiny new branch popped into my head that fits perfectly with a key moment later in the story and even sets up an alternate ending for the full novel. I’ll need to tweak a couple of things in earlier chapters to make it work, but nothing major, thankfully! Plus, I’ll have to revisit a few scenes anyway because I don’t know if the build up to an important moment in Chapter 6 feels solid. We’ll see how it goes.

One more thing, I’ve added a new feature that explains some of the cultural references and concepts that are common in the world of Remnants, but maybe not so familiar to all of you (unless you’re well-versed in guanche traditions, which, let’s be real, most people aren’t because even the majority of locals have 0 idea). For example, when Leire/Luca mentions things like the Night of the Finaos. On PC, you can hover or click on highlighted words to see a little info box, and just click elsewhere to close it. Same thing on mobile, and it will be implemented in the next update.

And finally, this month I finished the MC’s birthday stories for Patreon! They’re all up now, so go check them out if you haven’t already! I’d love to know which one’s your favourite :D

---

Have a nice month, and see you at the end of May ;)
